Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Always in the discussion when debating hockey's all-time greatest goaltender is Jacques Plante, with the legend's Parkhurst rookie card arguably the postwar era's most coveted and in-demand goalie RC. This rather inviting example of card #50 from 1955-56 has great eye appeal for its technical grade which is lowered by two half-inch back creases which are undetectable from the front. When viewing the reverse vertically there's a light crease rising up from the bottom edge, (just right of center), while another vertical crease descends from the middle of the top edge. Good top-to-bottom centering and a scratch and blemish-free surface are attributes, with light wear at the corners visible. In our book, an attractive VG+ Plante rookie awaits the high bidder.
