A trio of vintage images featuring Manhattan’s finest including the 1933 Stanley Cup champions, this lot contains a great collection of 1930s New York Rangers real photo postcards, accompanied by a rare postcard of first-season player Ollie Reinikka wearing the inaugural cardigan sweater of the Blueshirts! Included, we have Rangers postcards from 1931-32, 1932-33 (Stanley Cup champions) and 1938-39, with each featuring a postal reverse, with the players listed on verso for the 1931-32 postcard, while the remaining two have just the season handwritten in pencil. The Ollie Reinikka postcard depicts the BC native in the gorgeous first year cardigan sweater of the Rangers, with period text over the reverse stating, “This is the New York Rangers sweater”, signed “From Oliver”, with his name also written in ballpoint, with a few additional pencil notations added. Reinikka saw action with the Blueshirts only during the inaugural season of 1926-27.
