Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
In 2007-08, In The Game entered the ultra-high-end trading card market with its first Superlative hockey card release. Limited to just 3,000 boxes, each one contained either a Silver or Gold Autograph card among the handful of cards inside. With the intent of blowing collectors away, the checklist remains strong well over a decade later. Featuring on-card signatures, the assembly is led by the cards of legends Patrick Roy, Mario Lemieux, Martin Brodeur, Alexander Ovechkin, Jean Beliveau, Bobby and Brett Hull, Ray Bourque and Joe Sakic. Other Hall of Famers contributing are Schmidt, Lindsay, Kelly, Hall, Bower, Henri Richard, Mahovlich, Mikita, Keon, Giacomin, Phil and Tony Esposito, Clarke, Parent, Lafleur, Dionne, Potvin, Fuhr, Coffey, Chelios, Neely, Leetch, Jagr, Hasek, Modano, Lidstrom, Niedermayer, Pronger, St. Louis and Tretiak, while also notable are Lecavalier, Datsyuk, Kovalchuk, Luongo and Thornton. These Silver Version affairs were limited to 50, with this batch all still sealed by the original ITG round sticker at the top of the toploaders, with light scratches observed in the majority of the holders.
