Sending moms repeatedly to the store to stock up on Post cereal during the 1970-71 NHL season, boys feverishly culled through boxes of the breakfast confectionery seeking to unearth buried treasure in the form of desirable plastic mini-sticks that each bore the image of an NHL hero. For a mere $2.50, as advertised on the back of cereal boxes, a Post Hockey Game produced to accommodate the use of their mini-sticks could be purchased, and we offer an extremely rare complete example in it’s original box. Featuring an 18” x 30” plastic rink with “NHL Players” logo at center ice, plastic nets and spinners are included to facilitate game-action, along with two full-colour card stock goaltenders – with the likenesses of Eddie Giacomin and Rogie Vachon. The plastic components have never been disassembled, with just light overall wear to the rink and playing pieces, with the original instructions included. This is the only complete 1970-71 Post Hockey Game with original box that we have ever seen.
