Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Largely responsible for the success of the Montreal Canadiens throughout the club’s glorious Stanley Cup run during the late-1970s, Bob Gainey would spend his entire 16-season Hall of Fame career in a Habs sweater, with his #23 retired by the Canadiens in 2008. This Montreal Canadiens blazer hails from the superstar’s personal collection and originates from just his second NHL season, in 1974-75. Approx size 46 and tailored by Burtmar Clothes with their attractive label over the right inside pocket, a second tag within the pocket has “Bob Gainey” typed, with the date of “Dec 3, 1974”. An embroidered Canadiens logo sits over the left pocket, with the original two lapel buttons intact and just light wear to the inner liner. There are also a few light blemishes visible, with the jacket in excellent condition overall. A signed LOA from Bob Gainey will accompany this Canadiens blazer.
