Seeing action with six different NHL clubs during his noteworthy career, Pierre Turgeon was selected 1st overall in 1987 by Buffalo, with five All-Star Game appearances made along with earning the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, in 1993. From his penultimate season in 2005-06 with Colorado where he scored his 500th career goal, we have a photo-matched Avalanche jersey worn by the Rouyn native. A label with “56” sizing and handwritten “1” is affixed to the collar, with Reebok and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with a textured Aves team crest with embroidered detailing, “87” appears over the sleeves and verso, with matching alternate Bigfoot crests over each shoulder. There is also the “10 Seasons” patch just above the right breast. A MeiGray patch numbered “C02625” is affixed to the inside hem near a “2005-2006” date swatch, with a matching LOA to accompany.
Exhibiting light wear, there are a few fabric pulls and small dark marks over the lower front and left sleeve. Getty Image #116934443 from Oct 27, 2005, has been matched to the black marks on the middle of the left sleeve, and to the long loose threads on the right edge of the numbers "8" and "7" of "87" on the reverse of the jersey.
