Important items worn earlier-on in the career of Hall of Fame netminder Ed Belfour are offered, highlighted by the superstar’s rookie-era game-used skates. Each item originates from Belfour’s time in the Windy City with the Chicago Black Hawks. Included, we have a photo-matched blocker that saw action in just his fourth NHL season, in 1991-92, a large chest protector worn in the mid-1990s and the aforementioned skates that were used very early in Ed’s noteworthy career, with a pair of images from 1988-89 showing Belfour wearing this model of skate. A signed LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany these desirable game-used items.
The blocker was produced by Brian’s, in solid white with black accents/identifiers, with heavy use exhibited, with numerous puck marks across the face along with additional wear and red paint transfer to the palm. There is also a minor tear to the material on the underside. Getty Image #80742967 (1992 NHL All-Star Game) has been matched to numerous black marks throughout the front of the blocker. The images from a pair of 1991-92 Upper Deck cards have also been matched to the blocker. The skates feature SLM boots, with just a single lace intact. Puck marks and paint transfer are visible over the boots, with wear to the blades including residue over each side of the left skate. The chest protector is a Cooper Reactor model, and it appears complete including all strapping, with heavy use exhibited with considerable sweat staining throughout.
