Encapsulating the international hockey scene during the mid-1970s to late-1980s, we have an especially large and comprehensive hockey autograph collection, with numerous team-signed items representing the greatest competing hockey nations. First, we have numerous team-signed sheets for various countries throughout the 1980s including the Soviets from 1980 (with Kharlamov) and 1984 (Olympic gold medalists), Team Canada from 1982 (with Gretzky) and Team Sweden from 1980 and 1983 (both with Lindbergh, with the last name portion of the 1980 red ink signature appearing somewhat rushed), followed by 18 small booklets, with each team-signed ranging from Finland in 1975 to Team USA in 1982, with a number of countries/years as well as NHL teams also represented by individual signature cuts of players including Team Canada from 1981 with Lafleur and Robinson. Other highlights include signature cuts from the father of Russian hockey, Anatoli Tarasov (2) and a signature cut and signed photo from Tretiak, a Gretzky 7-Up premium photo, an 8” x 10” photo signed by Orr, a Jim Craig signature cut from 1980, a Gordie Howe signature cut, over 140 signed hockey cards including Beliveau, Moore, the Pocket Rocket and more!
The team-signed sheets from 1980 include Sweden, Canada, Finland, the Soviets and Czechs, from 1981 include Sweden and Finland (both sheet and cuts), from 1982 include Canada and the Czechs, from 1983 include signature cuts from Canada (12), Germany (17) and Finland (11), from 1984 includes the Soviets (with Tretiak), Czechs (13 cuts) and Finland, with additional team-signed sheets for Team Canada in 1985, 1986 and 1989, and the Czechs in 1984 (Dominik Hasek). The team-signed booklets include Finland 1975, IFK Helsingfors 1974-75, Sweden for both 1976 and 1977, Team USA 1976, the Soviets 1978 (with Kharlamov) and Canada 1978. Booklets from 1981 are present for USA, Canada, Finland, Soviets, Sweden and the Czechs, with 1982 booklets for USA, Sweden, Germany and Italy. The additional misc. items include a number of letters on Swedish Ice Hockey Federation letterhead, photos signed by Roy, Lafleur, Lindros, Gainey and others, a Phil Esposito signed cut, 5 Borje Salming autographs, a 1976-77 Philadelphia Flyers yearbook, and player signature cuts for the 1981-82 New York Rangers (17 cuts), 1980-81 Minnesota North Stars (10 cuts), 1980-81 Washington Capitals (10 cuts) and 1981-82 Washington Capitals (13 cuts). Rounding out the huge signature lot, we have a booklet team-signed by the 1977-78 Winnipeg Jets, European player-signed photo sets for Djurgardens IF, Västra Frölunda and others, and much more! A number of items in the collection show wear commensurate with use, age and storage, with the overwhelming majority of the signatures presenting well with just minor issues.
