Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Lumber used by members of the beloved Montreal Expos is offered, along with a pair of signed baseballs and mini-batting helmets. Included, we have a Vladimir Guerrero bat signed and used by Orlando Cabrera, game-used bats from Tony Batista and Darren Brag (used with the Atlanta Braves, signed), a Rawlings 302F “Big Stick” signed by Orlando Cabrera over the barrel (there is some loss to the signature) and a Rawlings bat multi-signed by members of the 2004 Los Angeles Dodgers. There is also a ball dual-signed by Hank Aaron and Willie Mays, with each adding their career HR totals, a ball signed by an unknown member of the Yomiuri Giants, and a pair of mini batting helmets signed by Tim Raines and one other.
Two bright spots in the Montreal Expos waning years, with this Vladimir Guerrero Cooper game bat having been autographed by shortstop Orlando Cabrera. Looks like Carbrera used one of Vlads bats, since Orlando’s number “18” is added to the knob of the bat. Light game use to report with a slight crack in the handle where a little pine tar is present. Cabrera penned a gold ink autograph and added his number “18” near the end of the barrel and just above where “Cooper Pro 100 Vladimir Guerrero Professional P72” appears in gold paint. Next, we have a Rawlings "Big Stick 302F 34 IN Performance Model" which actually does not show any game use but which was autographed on the barrel by Orlando Cabrera and which comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Montreal Expos that states that the shortstop signed the bat during the 2004 season, the Expos last before moving to Washington. A Tony Batista bat by Glomar Enterprises of Fullerton, CA includes his name along with "Pro-Model G-343" and "Montreal Expos", while his number "7" in black marker is on the bat's knob. Not signed but game-used with two cracks; one in the handle and the other in the middle of the barrel. Finally, a Darren Brag bat from his time with the Atlanta Braves is both game used and autographed. Louisville Slugger is not cracked and is signed in blue sharpie up close to where "Genuine R205 Darren Brag Atlanta Braves" appears in the wood. Darren added his number "28" which also was inked to the knob in black marker. The 2004 Los Angeles Dodgers bat autographed by 5 has "Big Stick 212B 31 IN Adirondack Model" in silver on the barrel and was autographed nearby in silver ink by five members of the 2004 Los Angeles Dodgers. Leading the way is the signature of three-time All-Star and 2003 Cy Young award winner Eric Gagne. Also penning their names were Adrian Beltre, Milton Bradley, Duaner Sanchez and Masao Kida. All but the little bit smudged Sanchez autograph are bold and beautiful and make for a great piece for your Dodgers/autograph/bat collection. Next, Henry Aaron and Willie Mays have both signed this official MLB (Selig) ball in nice blue ballpoint. Hammerin’ Hank signed on the sweet spot and added his “755” home run total while the Say Hey Kid’s autograph appears on the panel just above and is joined by his “660” round tripper total. Both the ball and the sigs are beauties and worthy of your Hall of Fame autographed baseball collection. Rounding out the lot, the two signed mini helmets display well.
