Enjoying a lengthy two-decade career that included skating for both amateur and professional clubs, Roy Burmister would dress for Niagara Falls and then New Haven in the late-1920s, followed by a trio of seasons with the New York Americans, from 1929 to 1932. This oval framed photo represents Burmister’s time in the OHA with Owen Sound, in 1925. Picturing a nineteen year old Burmister in his full Greys uniform, the photo has been set into an oval frame with convex glass to full dimensions of approx 15 ½” x 22”. “Roy Burmister Owen Sound Grey 1925” has been handwritten directly onto the reverse of the frame along the top, with a sticker affixed to the backing listing the particulars. The photo itself shows some wear, with a pair of small areas where the surface has been broken, with additional wear to the frame over both the front and reverse.
