Signed orbs totaling 23 and featuring a trio of team-signed specimens, this lot includes a 1978 Blue Jays baseball signed by 27 including Butch Alberts, Ernie Whitt, Mark Wiley, Jim Clancy, Doug Ault, Don Kirkwood, Dave Lemanczyk, Tom Buskey, Bob Bailor, John Mayberry, Al Woods, Roy Howell, manager Roy Hartsfield and others, followed by a 1987 or 1988 Seattle Mariners Official AL Bobby Brown ball signed by 26 including Dennis Powell, Rey Quinones, Scott Bankhead, Mike Kingery, Bill Wilkinson, manager Dick Williams and others. There is also a late-1980s/early-1990s ball signed by Blue Jays including Pat Borders, Dave Steib and manager Cito Gaston, a second baseball signed by Blue Jays Gaston, Borders, Carter, Alomar and others, and a baseball signed by Luke Sewell, Vic Lombardi, Elston Howard, Ray Shore and others, with heavy toning and wear to both the baseball and signatures (stickers were also removed, leaving areas of surface loss). The single-signed specimens include Willy Upshaw (AL ball signed in blue ballpoint with personalization and heavy toning/staining), Tony Gwynn (NL ball signed blue ballpoint), Joe Carter (AL ball signed in blue ballpoint with a few marks/stains to the ball), Pat Borders (1992 World Series ball signed in dark ink (faded signature, with staining), Charles Johnson (NL ball signed in dark ink with toning to the ball), Ferguson Jenkins (AL ball signed in blue ballpoint, with “Hall of Fame ‘91”), Ken Griffey jr (AL ball signed in ballpoint with toning/discolouration), Mark McGwire (AL ball signed in ballpoint, with areas of loss to the signature and discolouration and toning to the ball), Roberto Alomar (AL ball signed in black ballpoint, with staining to the ball), Javy Lopez (ML ball signed in ballpoint, slight fading to the signature), Dave Stieb (AL ball signed in black ballpoint), Minnie Minoso (ML ball signed in thin blue marker) and a few others. Rounding out the lot, it also includes a ball signed by NL umpires Ed Montague, Harry Wendelstedt, Randy Marsh, Gary Darling and one other (NL ball with some stains).
