Named Best Defenceman at the 2011 World Championships, Alex Pietrangelo has captained St Louis since 2016, with his exceptional play and stoic leadership helping the Blues to claim their first Stanley Cup championship. We have a photo-matched Blues jersey worn by the King City native in 2011-12, just his second full season in the arch city. A label with “58+” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar Blues team crest with embroidered detailing, the white V-neck has been accented with “27” over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Pietrangelo” over the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. Team lettering appears on the inside hem, with this sweater designated as a “Set 2” example.
Exhibiting a large and washed-out stick mark beneath the team crest, there are also numerous team repairs on the sweater, including 5 over the right sleeve, approx 13 over the left sleeve including a large example near the elbow, with a final repair on the right shoulder. Getty Image #139318380, from Feb 19, 2012, has been matched to the team repairs on the right sleeve at the lower left of the "27" (2 groups of team repairs), while Getty Image #140243568, from Feb 25, has been matched to the faint black mark to the left of the team crest.
