Colorful, popular, challenging and the last set to feature only players from the Original Six era teams is Topps’ 1967-68 hockey card effort, with this sensational encapsulated jackpot comprised of cards, get this, which have all been deemed worthy of alluring NM-MT 8 or better status at PSA, with not a single “qualifier” to report. Standing out are 14 examples which received marks of MINT 9, highlighted by #11-Dave Keon (Pop 9 with none higher in the history of PSA) and 124-Bobby Hull All-Star (Pop 32 with just one higher). The MINT 9 Hall of Fame lineup also includes 29-Geoffrion, 42-Bucyk, 76-Bower, 127-Horton AS and 129-Hall AS, with other 9s being 77-Carleton, 89-Brown, 93-Krake, 104-Talbot, 115-DeJordy and 130-Marshall AS. Everything else has been slabbed NM-MT 8, including three Bobby Orr cards, (#92 is perfectly centered and in an early PSA holder), 32-Esposito, 43-Howe, 113-Hull, 131-Howe AS, both checklists and rookie cards of Sanderson, Lemaire, Vachon and 21 others. The “Crazy Eights” contingent also includes the first (1-Worsley) and last (132-Ullman AS) numbered cards and 18 not-already mentioned HOFers.
