Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

A Motor City regular that transitioned with the club throughout their Cougar, Falcons and Red Wings incarnations, Larry Aurie would win back-to-back Stanley Cups with Detroit, in 1936 and 1937. We have a rare signature model stick of the 1934 All-Star, with this example most likely produced by Hespeler, as the company produced Aurie signature models, with Classic selling a paper label example in 2008. Full-size, remnants of a red striping accent remain, with “Larry Aurie” across both sides of the blade in script. “Made in Canada” is also visible in silver over both sides of the lower shaft, with this matching Hespeler sticks from the period we’ve handled. Black tape remains over the blade, shaft and knob, with heavy use and wear present, with some chipping to the top edge of the blade on one side, and a pair of age cracks across the blade. Despite these issues, the stick remains solid, and would display wonderfully.
