The last active player upon his retirement in 2004 that witnessed action in the WHA, Mark Messier is a veteran of over 1700 regular season NHL games, with appearances made in an astounding 15 All-Star Games. We have a signed stick used by the HOFer during his time in Manhattan with the Rangers, in the mid-1990s, circa 1996-97. A Louisville TPS Graphite model, “Messier” appears stamped over the stem of the inserted red wooden blade, with the original black tape over the handle and knob. The blade tape has been removed to facilitate the large black marker signature, preceded by a dedication that includes “Thanks for everything – Cheers”. The signature displays well, with a few marks to the blade near the heel section, and wear to the affixed Louisville decals. There is also tape residue on the upper shaft.
