Already securing over 250 points in just his first three completed NHL seasons, Connor McDavid was a member of the NHL’s All Rookie Team, with First All-Star Team honours in both 2017 and 2018. From his Art Ross and Ted Lindsay-winning season of 2017-18, we have a photo-matched stick used by the youthful superstar. A CCM Super Tacks model in solid black with white and yellow accents, “McDavid” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with a serial number affixed to the underside. With Connor’s white tape job over the blade and blue cloth wrap over the handle/knob, the desirable composite exhibits puck marks on both sides of the blade, with the tape ripped along the top edge of the blade. A few marks and abrasions are also present on the lower shaft. Used on October 7th 2017 vs Vancouver and on October 14th vs Ottawa, a hologram from MeiGray numbered “MGA006730” has been affixed to the upper shaft.
We should note that the blade tape was removed after the Oct 7th contest, and then re-taped, with the stick photo-matched to both games. First, Getty Image #861405558 from Oct 7th has been matched to a surface chip on the lower reverse of the stick (first one below the CCM lettering), while the second Getty Image (#861469386), from Oct 14th, has been matched to the big black mark on the reverse of the blade, and to the small area with tape missing.
