Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Originally sold through the Hockey Diversified NHL Goal Puck Program that offered game-used examples from 1972-73 and 1973-74, a label was affixed to each listing the scorer, team and date, along with a code that divulged which team-goal said puck accounted for. This particular puck was used by Vic Hadfield to score the New York Rangers’ 109th goal of the 1972-73 season, vs the crosstown New York Islanders at Madison Square Garden, on Dec 10, 1972. Sporting an 18-8-3 record going into the contest, the Rangers would handily defeat the boys from Long Island, 4-1. Coming off his best offensive-production season in 1971-72, Hadfield would score an impressive 62 points in just 63 games, in 1972-73. The Rangers rubberized logo is fairly dark with a small cut, with blemishes, heavy toning and creasing visible over the Goal Puck Program label. There are also a few small edge cuts/chips.
