Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

The first leader of the NDP, Tommy Douglas served as an elected member of the House of Commons in 1935, later becoming Saskatchewan Premier in 1944 after a landslide victory. Forming the first socialist government in North America, the universal healthcare system implemented by Douglas was eventually adopted by the Federal Government. We have a hardcover copy of “Tommy Douglas Speaks”, signed by the iconic politician. Published in 1979, the 288-page tome has been signed by Douglas in blue ballpoint on the title page, with “Best Wishes” added. The signature is flawless, with the book retaining its original dust jacket, with no issues for the book and just some edge tears and creasing present on the dust jacket.
