Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

With his name plastered on Lord Stanley’s hardware seven-fold, Clarence “Happy” Day won the coveted trophy as a player, captain, coach and assistant manager, all while representing the Toronto Maple Leafs. We have a signed 1933-34 Hamilton Gum card of the 1961 HOF inductee, with this example encapsulated and certified “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. Signed in pencil along the right side, the signature displays well, with the card itself in low grade, with corner wear, staining and a few creases. The reverse has also been heavily damaged, with most of the text covered by paper remnants left from prior scrapbook removal. Day would pass early in 1990 at the age of 88.
