Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
A requirement when completing – or at least attempting to complete – a full Hockey Hall of Fame signature collection, Conn Smythe captaining the UofT Varsity Blues men's hockey team to the 1914 OHA finals, with the Toronto native later serving as the principal owner of the Leafs. We have a pair of Toronto documents signed by the HOF Builder. First, we have a Uniform Agreement for Bazel Doran from 1936 (8 ½” x 9”), with Smythe signing in fountain pen over the designated space on the lower right, with just the top loops overlapping text. The document itself exhibits fold lines and toning, along with a few creases. The second document is a Memorandum Agreement for Leonard Trushinski from 1941 (8 ½” x 11”), with Smythe again signing in fountain pen over the designated space on the lower right, with this dark scripting also showing the top loops overlapping text. With light wear and a few print lines, the document survives in beautiful condition.
