Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Selected second overall in 1981 by the Chicago Cubs, Joe Carter spent limited time with Cleveland, San Diego and others, with his seven seasons in Toronto memorable for back-to-back World Series championships in the early-1990s, hitting a series-clinching walk-off homer in the 1993 Fall Classic. We have a Blue Jays jersey signed by the 2003 HOF inductee, along with a signed photo and baseball. Produced by the Cooperstown Collection with “XL” sizing along the collar, “Blue Jays” arches across the upper chest, with an embroidered Jays logo over the left breast. “29” appears over the verso beneath “Carter”, with a 1993 World Series patch over the right sleeve. Carter has added a huge signature over the lower front in blue marker, with “93 W.S. Walk off HR”. With no issues for the jersey, the signature displays beautifully. The photo is 8” x 10” and pictures Carter and the Jays celebrating, with Joe adding a nice blue sharpie signature over his image. The signed baseball is an Official Rawlings Major League ball with perfect stampings, with Carter signing across the sweet spot in blue ballpoint, with no issues for the signature or ball. As an added bonus, a second Official Rawlings Major League ball will accompany, with this example signed by an unknown individual. Holograms have been affixed to the ball and photo, with COAs to accompany for all three Carter items.
