Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Serving as his final NHL season, Bobby Hull would secure his 600th career goal in 1971-72, with this his fifth season of 50 goals or more. The Black Hawks would also top the West Division, with 21 more points then second-place Minnesota. Awarded for Chicago’s first-place finish in the West Division during the regular season and originating from Bobby Hull’s personal collection, we have his 1971-72 Chicago Black Hawks Clarence Campbell championship trophy. At 11” in height and with an intact green felt underside, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid (the lid is now attached) and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch wooden base and is engraved “Chicago Black Hawks 1971-72 Robert Hull” on one side, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the other.
The trophy displays wonderfully, with just light wear to the wooden base and a few areas of surface loss to the trophy, over the top of the handles and along the top rim. There is also a small chip to the finial. We should note that the trophy displays a goldish tint, with this fitting, as after all, Hull was The Golden Jet.
