Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The rookie card of early goaltending great Percy LeSueur, coupled with his second-year card, highlight this little stash of little treasures, issued by Imperial Tobacco over one hundred years ago. Both LeSueur cards are low grade affairs, with wear and light paper loss (reverse) affecting the C56 rookie, but no major creases/flaws affect the fascinating images - aren't the sweaters, the equipment and the colors grand?! And what about LeSueur's life in hockey? It spanned 50 years as a player, coach, manager, columnist and broadcaster. Meanwhile, there are PSA representatives among the others, with #19-Jim Jones from 1910-11 slabbed Good+ 2.5 and joined by four C55s. Nicest is 13-Alex Currie RC at VG+ 3.5, while HOFer 11-Marty Walsh, 8-Jack MacDonald RC and 39-Henri Dallaire RC are VG 3s. Low grade (P) raw entries are C56s, (all RCs), of 13-Ed Decary, 19-Jim Jones and 35-Jack Marshall (HOF), while completing the lot is a C55 of 44-Geo. Poulin RC.
