Featuring the men that have roamed NHL creases over the past few decades, we have a collection of game-used goal sticks totaling 6 from the 1990s and 2000s, with examples present from Rick DiPietro, Kari Lehtonen (2), Patrick Lalime, Jeff Reese and Blaine Lacher. The breakdown for each of the sticks is as follows;
Rick DiPietro – Bauer Reactor model early-2000s attributed use with AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers with “DiPietro” stamped and a factory code over the underside. The original tape is in place over the blade and knob, with heavy use, with a large break at the bottom of the paddle. DiPietro has signed the paddle in blue marker.
Blaine Lacher – Sher-Wood model used with Boston in the mid-1990s, with “Lacher 31” stamped-on, with the original tape over the blade and knob. Good use, with cracks and material loss along the top edge of the paddle.
Jeff Reese – Sher-Wood model from circa 1996-98, used with the IHL Detroit Vipers with “Reese” and “35” stamped-on, with the original tape over the blade and knob. Heavy use, with a broken blade and heavy crazing to the paddle, with red paint transfer over the shaft.
Patrick Lalime – Sher-Wood model used in the 1990s in the IHL, with “Lalime” and “34” over the upper shaft, with the original white tape over the blade and knob. Heavy use, with a ton of puck marks across the taped section of blade, along with a solid blade/paddle break at the heel, rectified with tape.
Kari Lehtonen – pair of matching pre-rookie sticks used in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves circa 2003-05, with “K. Lehtonen” stamped over each, with date stamps over each underside. The original white tape is in place over the blades, paddles and shaved knobs, with heavy use on each, with a ton of puck marks to the taped section of each blade. Lehtonen has signed each over the blade in black marker, and the signatures display well.
