Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Four superstars of the modern game, we have a collection of signed game-used sticks featuring three HOFers, with examples present from Doug Gilmour (used while with Toronto, circa 1992-93), Mike Gartner (used while with Phoenix, circa 1996-98), Eric Lindros (used while with Philly, circa 1993-94) and Wendel Clark (used while with Toronto, circa late-1980s). Each stick was originally gifted directly to our consignor, Ken Daniels. A sportscaster with CBC from 1985 to 1997, Daniels is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. All four sticks retain the original tape over the blades and handles, with the Lindros and Gartner sticks signed over the blade, the Clark over the shaft, and the Gilmour over the taped knob. LOAs for each stick will accompany from Ken Daniels.
We have Bauer (Lindros), Titan (Clark), Hespeler (Gilmour) and Louisville (Gartner) models, with each respective player’s name over the upper shaft (the Gilmour stamp is over the inserted blade stem). Each shows nice use, with moderate wear to the underside of the blades on both the Clark and Lindros sticks, with a chip on the Gartner stick over the inserted blade stem. The Clark has a loose tape strand over the knob, with marks and wear over all four shafts, including paint transfer over the Clark stick, with additional red paint transfer over the Clark and Gilmour knobs. We should also note that the Clark LOA was printed from a PDF, without the original signature from Daniels.
