Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
A link in the chain of famous Montreal Canadiens netminders that includes legendary backstops Georges Vezina, Jacques Plante and Ken Dryden, Patrick Roy spent parts of a dozen seasons in Montreal before making his successful transition to Colorado, with a pair of Cups won with the Avalanche, in 1996 and 2001. We have a stick used by the HOFer while with Colorado, in 1999-00. A KOHO 500 model in Aves colours, “P Roy” is stamped over the upper shaft, with the stick retaining its white tape over the blade and knob, and black cloth tape over the upper shaft and handle. A "15 Dec. 1999" date stamp is visible near the name stamp, with light use exhibited on the lumber, including marks and wear to the blade, along with a few additional marks to the paddle. There is also a small amount of blue paint transfer over the lower shaft.
