Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A member of the powerful Soviet squad that competed at the 1980 Winter Olympics, centerman Vladimir Golikov spent his career playing in Russia with both Dynamo Moscow and Khimik Voskresensk, from 1973 to 1985. Originating from his time with the Soviet National Team in the early-1980s, we have a stick used by the Penza native. A KOHO Custom Pro model with intact striping accents, “Golikov V” appears stamped over the upper shaft near handwritten “25”, with the original black tape over the blade and white/black combo over the handle. Exhibiting light use with both the taped section and underside of the blade showing minor wear, a few dark marks are also visible over the shaft, with a large puck mark over the toe section. The photo used for the listing is from the 1981 Canada Cup, and it shows Golikov using the identical model stick with the same tape pattern over the handle.
