Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A member of the prestigious Triple Gold Club having won the 1989 IIHF World Championship, the 1996 Stanley Cup, and the Olympic gold medal in 1988, Alexei Gusarov spent considerable time with the famous CSKA Moscow squad before embarking on his 11-season NHL career. We have a Colorado Avalanche jersey that was worn by the Leningrad native in 1998-99, his fourth season with the club. A Starter Center-Ice label along with a “56R-8-21” swatch sit affixed to the collar, with NHL and Starter crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with a somewhat embossed Avs team crest with embroidered detailing, the mesh V-neck has been accented with textured and layered tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate patches over each shoulder.
Custom-shortened sleeves have also been utilized, with a ton of use is exhibited on the garment, with black marks littering the lower front, along with additional marks over each sleeve. There is also a team repair over the left elbow.
