A unique and very scarce/desirable issue are these coasters which pay tribute to the 1931-32 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs and which were available from O'Keefe's Beverages Limited. With the texture of a blotter and indeed referred to as blotters by some, the sensational sketches featured are the work of cartoon artist Lou Skuce. All eight offered are low grade, with varying amounts/degrees of creasing to go along with edge/corner wear, as well as paper loss and writing on the backs, the latter being presumably the original owner's opinion of the players. Four are better than the other four, with examples of King Clancy ("still adore Clancy" on the back), Charlie Conacher ("don't like him"), Ace Bailey ("pretty good") and Joe Primeau ("swell, hot"), nicer than coasters depicting Red Horner, Harold Darragh, Andy Blair and Fred Robertson (pencil scribbling on the front). Swell complements to the relics are clippings from Maple Leafs programs, showing the coasters and accompanied by write-ups, with six of the eight present. Great chance to score eight scarcities with one swoop.
