Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Featuring the first Stanley Cup won by the iconic Toronto Maple Leafs while playing at the famous Maple Leaf Gardens, we have a program from the cup-clinching Game 3 that occurred on April 9th 1932, and it’s been signed by four including three HOFers with Charlie Conacher, Ace Bailey and Foster Hewitt. At 7” x 10”, the extremely rare 72 page program is loaded with period advertisements, with the center line-up listing player’s like Clancy, Primeau, Siebert and the Cook brothers still intact. Bailey and Conacher have signed the cover along with fellow leafs legend Baldy Cotton, with Hewitt signing the interior over his own advertisement on page 50. The game’s date has been handwritten on the cover in pencil, with a name stamp placed adjacently, along with a penned address.
The cover is almost detached, with the bottom staple just holding on. There is also toning to the interior, with a few pages heavily creased. Despite these flaws, the vintage program displays well, and would be a centerpiece in any advanced Stanley Cup or Maple Leafs collection.
