Matt Duchene hit the ground running in 2009-10 with the Colorado Avalanche finishing the season third in team scoring, impressive for his rookie outing! This third style jersey, worn by Matt in his first year in the NHL, is a Reebok-labelled garment with the Canada flag tag in the neck noting the size as 56 and displaying a marker ink “II”. The alternate style has “Colorado” cascading down the chest and “Avalanche” on the back of the neck. The NHL/MeiGray label is sewn inside and the inventory number matches that listed on the LOA on Avalanche letterhead stating this one is a Third Set 2 jersey. Wear is light and includes a dark stick slash on the lower right cuff with smaller marks on the opposite arm.
Matt Duchene scored 24 goals and turned in a 55-point performance in his rookie year in Colorado and went on to tally three additional assists in post-season play in 2009-10. The Haliburton-born centerman jumped over to the Ottawa Senators early in the 2017-18 season after eight full years with the Avalanche following a two-season stint in the juniors with the Brampton Battalion.
