Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The highlight of a poor man's postwar hockey card collection this intriguing set of 1951-52 Parkies could be, with all cards technically "Poor" due to some major condition issues, with however the three key rookie cards not all that hard to look at. Just about all cards have evidence on the upper back of once having been taped, with paper loss resulting, but with a filler/paint-like substance applied in an attempt to cover up the paper loss. Additionally, two staple holes, (near the top) affect dozens, including most (Montreal, Boston) cards numbered 1 to 35, a few Black Hawks, most Red Wings, no Maple Leafs and a few Rangers. Creases and corner wear are also present throughout in varying degrees. Now then, the Gordie Howe RC displays among the best, with light creases, two small holes and a light stain on the reverse, but none of the "touch-up" substance. The Sawchuk, Richard, Geoffrion and Delvecchio rookies are similar but with the substance., whereas Harvey RC, McNeil RC and 52-The Winning Goal display unsightly heavier creases/wear. Photos on our website will give you a better idea. Complete '51-52 Parkie sets are attractive/desirable in any condition.
