One of Motor City’s greatest defenceman, Nicklas Lidstrom won an impressive four Stanley Cups during his career, along with the Conn Smythe Trophy for his performance in the 2002 playoffs. We have a signed stick used by the Swede during his rookie era in the early-1990s. A Montreal 99 Graphite model, Lidstrom appears stamped onto the upper shaft, partially covered by the intact white tape over the handle with handwritten “5”. The original black tape over the blade has been removed to facilitate the signature, with Nicklas adding a flowing dark blue marker signature across the front side of the blade. Nice use is exhibited on the early Lidstrom lumber, with wear to the underside of the blade, along with numerous marks and abrasions to the lower shaft.
