Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A grab bag of great hockey collectibles, we have a neat collection offered which includes puzzles, thermoses, a Gretzky Mattel doll and more! We have 8 1972 American Publishing puzzles (2 Unger, 2 Park, 1 Esposito, 1 Orr, 1 Gilbert and 1 NY vs Pitts), along with another three empty tins (2 Orr and 1 Esposito), as well as an additional 1971 boxed Espo puzzle (we are unsure if any or all are complete). Next, we have a dozen vintage 1970s and early-1980s thermoses, including a pair featuring Wayne Gretzky, a pair for the Montreal Expos and a large seldom-seen 1974 NHLPA example (11”). This is followed by a Gretzky “99” Mattel doll from 1983 in its original packaging, a 1950s Parker Bros hockey board game (missing its original stand-up cardboard players) and a vintage 12 ½” x 19” Bauer advertisement featuring HOFers Orr, Bathgate and Howell. The puzzle tins all vary in condition, with a number exhibiting heavy wear to the labels, with the thermoses also varying in condition, with the majority just showing honest wear from use. The Gretzky doll includes the skates gloves and stick, with moderate wear to the box including toning and creasing, with a piece of clear tape added. The Parker Bros game, while not complete, displays well with just light wear to the box.
