Forced into retirement due to injuries at just 31, Gilles Tremblay spent nine glorious seasons representing les Canadiens, with four Stanley Cup championships won in just 5 years. Tremblay later went on to broadcasting, winning a Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for his work in 2002. We have a vintage Montreal Canadiens jersey worn by the Montmorency native during the late-1960s, circa 1967-68, and it’s been photo-matched. Void of any collar labeling, a “Dry Clean with Care” tag from Tease Knitting Co Ltd sits affixed to the inside seam. Featuring the famous CH team crest fully administered in red, white and blue layered tackle twill, the wool garment has been accented with white sleeve and verso numbers in blue trim, with six eyelet configuration on tie-neck construction. An included numeric image has been matched to the perfect placement of the team crest as well as particularities of said crest. Tremblay passed in late 2014 at the age of 75.
Game-wear includes marks over the front and each sleeve, with some interior pilling. There are also team repairs over each elbow, with some light staining to the reverse number along with very minimal bleeding of red onto the white striping band at the top sides of the team crest.
