Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2003-04 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
Undrafted at the start of his career, David Desharnais wore the most famous team crest in hockey for parts of 8 NHL seasons, with the Laurier-Station native set to embark shortly on his second season in Edmonton. We have a Canadiens jersey that was worn by Desharnais in 2014-15. Size tagging is affixed to the collar including handwritten “2”, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the famous partially-embroidered CH team crest, the “Away Set 2” V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the Jean Beliveau memorial “4” crest over the right breast. The team patch sits on the inside hem, while a hologram numbered “GU11098” has been affixed to the reverse “1”, with a matching LOA from the Canadiens to accompany.
A few marks can be seen surrounding the team crest, with additional examples over each sleeve including a few large and dark marks over and near the left sleeve’s number.
