Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Their first of three consecutive world championships, the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated Chicago in the 1962 Stanley Cup final, first getting past the New York Rangers in a hard-fought 6-game semifinal. We have a program from the clinching Game 6 victory that sent the boys in blue to the finals, along with a team-signed program page. At roughly 7” x 10”, the 80 page program features a cover image of Carl Brewer, with the center line-up page intact, with “April 7th”, the date of the 7-1 Game 6 semifinals victory. The signed page is identical to the first page in the offered program, with approx. 16 signing the same side in ballpoint, including HOFers Mahovlich, Armstrong, Pulford, Kelly, Olmstead, Duff, Stanley and Johnny Bower, along with Nevin, Shack, Litzenberger, Baun, Stewart and three others. The page itself exhibits toning and creasing, with tape on the reverse. The program remains in pleasing condition with light handling wear, along with a crease across the upper back cover that continues through to a number of pages.
