This 1964 New York Yankees American League championship 14-karat gold ring represents the end of the golden years of the original Bronx Bombers. Led by Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford, the Yankees won the AL pennant for the 29th time in a span of 44 seasons, a run that begin with Ruth in 1921 and was carried on by Gehrig, DiMaggio and Berra over the decades that followed. Red, white and blue stones, including a zirconia, are set in the Yankees logo on the tableau that is surrounded by “American League Champions” around the bezel. “Balfour 14K” is stamped and sample number “SA 69698-BANK” is engraved inside the size 10 band of this salesman’s sample that weighs approximately 38 grams and comes with a Balfour box.
