Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

Brothers-in-arms for several seasons were legends Howie Morenz and Aurele Joliat, leading their Canadiens to three Stanley Cup titles during their time together, and they combine here for an intriguing offering. Joliat's 1933-34 Ice Kings card #3 is the bilingual version, features a classic Joliat pose and has been deemed worthy of EX 5 recognition by PSA, while Morenz' encapsulated contribution, a Goudey Sports Kings card, is slabbed G-VG 2.5 by Beckett. Two other pre-war representatives are a raw Joliat Ice Kings card, (also bilingual)(VG+) and a low grade (P-F) Hamilton Gum card, also picturing the left winger, with creases and evidence on the back of once having been pasted. Cards featuring the dynamic duo from Parkhurst's 1955-56 "Oldtime Great" subset both have light creasing and visible staining, while completing is a '60-61 Topps Morenz All-Time Greats card at VG. Yes indeed, two all-time greats.
