Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
At 17, the youngest individual in history to guard an NHL net, Harry Lumley would appear for 4 of the Original Six clubs, winning a Vezina Trophy in 1954 along with a Stanley Cup in 1950. We have a rarely-seen Harry Lumley signed stick, with this particular example used in the late-1940s while playing in the Motor City. A Northland Professional model, “Lumley” appears on the upper shaft, along with a small “Lippman’s” supplier stamp. Harry’s black tape is present over the blade, upper paddle and knob, with both of the original striping accents over the paddle intact. Good use is visible with wear to the blade along with marks along the paddle, with cracks present at the top of the paddle and tip of the blade. Lumley has signed over the paddle in ballpoint, with a personalization added as this stick was originally gifted to the Red Wings team doctor. Comes with an LOA.
