Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Hailing from Team Canada’s first Olympic gold medal victory in 50 years, we have a wonderful replica jersey for the 2002 Salt Lake City Games that originates from the Pens and Devils long-time massage therapist Tommy Plasko, and it’s been signed by the members of the championship Canadian squad. A Nike model with labeling present along with a point-of-sale tag, the solid white jersey has been styled with a wonderful Team Canada crest, along with matching vintage-style alternate crests over each shoulder. Approx. 30 have signed across the front in marker including HOFers Belfour, Brodeur, Lemieux, Lindros, Sakic, MacInnis, Pronger, Shanahan and Nieuwendyk, along with Iginla, Fleury, Foote, Blake and others.
The jersey remains in wonderful condition with some light pink discolouration in spots, with just some minor bleeding to the signatures. Others who have signed include Brewer, Joseph, Nolan and more. We should also note that Team Canada massage therapist Tommy Plasko’s name is visible on a sticker that has been affixed to a tag, with the jersey (previously mentioned) originating from his personal collection. His initials are also present along the collar label.
