The Indianapolis Racers of the WHA can always lay claim to having been Wayne Gretzky’s first professional hockey team. This 1976-77 Racers durene gamer with Wilson size 46 tagging in the back of the neck was worn by center Reg Thomas, who tied for fourth in team scoring with 55 points in 79 games, including 25 goals and 30 assists in his second of three seasons in Indianapolis. Elasticized fight strap loop is sewn inside the back, and No. 9 is sewn on the back and both sleeves in white and red double twill, the same as the surname letters on the nameplate. Game wear includes board burns and a couple of unrepaired burn holes on the left sleeve and a few light marks on the right shoulder yoke.
