An especially offensive defenceman, Catherine Ward set a QSSF Conference record for points by a defenceman with 25. The Montreal native has also represented Canada at the World Women's Championships and the Winter Olympics. We have a Team Canada alternate captain’s jersey worn by Ward at the 2014 Winter Olympics vs Finland on Feb 10th. A Nike logo along with sizing (60) sits on the collar above an IIHF label. Styled with a maple leaf team crest fittingly outlined in gold, the solid red garment has been accented with tackle twill numbers, with the back letters heat-pressed directly on. The Olympic rings appear over the right sleeve along with a Canadian flag patch over the left, while the important Sochi 2014 crest resides on the back bottom hem. A Nike inventory bar code numbered 85341 also sits inverted on the inside hem. An LOA from Hockey Canada will accompany.
With just some faint/light staining to the right of the team crest along with a few dark marks near the left elbow, the jersey remains in beautiful condition.
These jerseys take inspiration from the iconic designs of vintage Canadian jerseys - the 2014 jersey is 15% lighter than the 2010 Nike hockey jerseys, with a modern neckline incorporating Nike flywire and lightweight graphic badges. Inside the jersey's collar are 12 gold maple leaves which represent Hockey Canada's total number of Olympic and Paralympic gold medals at that time - eight in men's hockey, three in women's hockey, and one in sledge hockey.
