Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
The presented signed stick was used by Mario Lemieux while securing his 600th of 1723 regular season career points, accomplishing the milestone feat while only in his 5th NHL season. A preferred KOHO model, “Lemieux” appears stamped-on, with “66” handwritten along with a cross near the top of the shaft, with “600” added on the butt end. The stick retains its original tape on the handle with the blade tape removed so that Mario could add the important inscription of "600th point, Dec. 20th 1988 vs Islanders" at the toe, placing a huge black marker signature across the blade. With nice use exhibited including wear to the blade and a crack through the middle of the shaft, the important stick is worthy of any advanced Lemieux, Penguins or HOF stick collection.
