This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Four attractive display pieces are here for your collecting consideration with each featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs, including a pair that hail from the personal collection of HOFer Frank Mahovlich. We have an image of Maple Leaf Gardens signed by 16 past Leafs, followed by Bruce Burton's 1998 rendition of Toronto's storied Maple Leaf Gardens, signed by Mahovlich and originally part of his collection. Next, we have a matted print entitled "Oldtimers" from the 1999 NHL Oldtimers Association golf tournament, signed by Bobby and Dennis Hull, the Big M and Eddie Shack, with this piece also originally the property of Mahovlich. Lastly, we have a Darryl Sittler signed and framed lithograph. The MLG piece is 16” x 20” and signed by 16 in blue marker, including Kennedy, Watson, Ullman, Wilson, Nevin, Stewart, Pilote, Litzenberger, Meeker, Klukay, Stanowski, Derlago and others. The signatures are all flawless, with wear to the piece itself including some creasing and corner wear, along with a surface bend at the top right. The Bruce Burton rendition of Maple Leaf Gardens is 19” x 25”, and it pictures a wonderful likeness of the famous arena, with both the artist and Frank Mahovlich signing, and it’s hand-numbered “594/2999”. Some water damage is present to the reverse, causing some warping to the surface. The “Oldtimers” print is roughly 24 ¼” x 31” and matted, with the Hull brothers, Mahovlich and Eddie Shack pictured, with each signing in pencil beneath their respective image. Numbered “27/275”, the litho and signatures appear flawless, with wear to the matte itself. Lastly, the Sittler litho features a wonderful image of the HOF as depicted by artist Mervyn Scoble, with a limited-edition of 500. Both Sittler and the artist have signed, with considerable wear to the frame including the glass that has been taped. The litho has also moved within its matte.
