The interest of vintage card collectors, as well as New York hockey historians, will be piqued by this pair of ultra-scarce collectibles. Produced/issued by an unknown company, they at least can be dated to the 1926-27 season, the second campaign that these "anonymous" cards appeared. Veteran hobbyist and author of the "Vintage Hockey Collector" price guide, Bobby Burrell points to the spacing between the first three lines in the text on the back as a distinguishing factor. Additionally, in the case of the Taffy Abel card, the Rangers joined the NHL in '26-27. Abel's first-year Rangers uniform is killer, while Charlie Langlois also looks dandy is his classic New York Americans outfit. The Abel card is slabbed "Auth" by SGC due to trimming but offers an inviting image, while the Langlois example, (variation with "Le Club" in the French text), is graded Fair 1.5. We believe it fair to call these rare!
