Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
From his time in Minnesota, we have a North Stars jersey worn in the mid-to-late-1980s by Guelph native Brian MacLellan. A Steichens Sports label along with Maska tagging remains affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and Steichen’s crests on the back bottom hem. Featuring the attractive drop-shadow North Stars team crest in double-twill, matching sleeve and verso numbers grace the solid-green mesh, with the important "JM" John Mariucci Memorial patch over the right breast. Mariucci was the long-time coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers and assistant GM of the North Stars, with the franchise wearing the patch first late in 1986-87, and then for a short time into the 1987-88 season.
Game-wear on the desirable garment includes just a few random marks on the lower front, on the team crest and over the right sleeve. Surviving North Stars examples with the rare “JM” patch rarely make themselves available to the collecting community… so bid accordingly.
