Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
The second installment of the popular tournament, the 2004 edition of the World Cup of Hockey witnessed yet another dominant performance from Team Canada, going undefeated before being crowned tournament champions. This vintage-style Team Canada Joe Thornton store model jersey modeled after the 1920 Olympic gold medal winning Winnipeg Falcons, has been signed by the superstar. Labeling from Nike along with Hockey Canada sits affixed to the collar, with an embroidered Nike swoosh crest on the back neckline. Featuring a gorgeous two-tone red maple leaf team crest with “Canada”, the jersey has also been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Canada” across the back nameplate. Matching Winnipeg Falcons crests are also present, placed over each shoulder. Thornton has signed in the middle section of the back “9” in white paint-pen including his number, and the signature is flawless. A hologram from Stevie Y Authentic has been placed at the bottom of the reverse “9”, with a matching COA to accompany.
