Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
With an impressive resume that features numerous awards including the Calder, Hart, Art Ross and Conn Smythe trophies, Russian superstar Evgeni Malkin is a major force to be reckoned with as he enters his 11th NHL season as a current Stanley Cup champion. This lot contains a Pittsburgh Penguins alternate captain’s jersey that was worn by the future HOFer in 2013-14. Size tagging along with a Reebok name band sits affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring a clean and attractive Penguins team crest, the solid black V-neck has been embellished with oversized and textured triple-twill numbers and name-on-nameplate. A team LOA along with a letter from JerseyTRAK will accompany.
The chip from JerseyTRAK has been placed just above the fight strap, with a signature from equipment manager Dana Heinze in marker just below. The team patch also resides on the inside hem, and it divulges that this garment is a “Set 1 Regular Season” example. Game-wear is light on the important sweater, with just a few random marks present. The included document from JerseyTRAK informs us that this Malkin jersey was worn specifically in the following contests, 11/27/13 against Philly, 12/9/13 against Columbus and on 12/13/13 vs New Jersey.
