The 2000 NHL season was kicked off in style for both the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators, with a two-game series played before the largest crowds to ever witness Hockey in Japan. This Penguins jersey was worn by Czech centerman Jan Hrdina in the first game on Oct 8th at Saitama Super Arena, just outside of Tokyo. A CCM label with handwritten “38” along with a size “52” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Featuring the Penguins team crest that saw use throughout the majority of the 1990s, the solid white V-neck has also been adorned with large double-twill sleeve and verso numbers. The important GameOne patch resides just above the right breast. Game-wear consists of just a few marks on front, situated around the team crest. There is also some light staining on verso beneath the numbers. The Oct 7th GameOne contest ended in a 3-1 loss for the Pens, with Hrdina scoring a goal in the game. An LOA from the Penguins organization will accompany.
